Creative Team Meeting 8-6-2004

Hi guy's:

Thanks for making the meeting and being in the moment. I think Mrs. Wimberly gave us a better understanding of what and why the Mural Project is so important to the center. I know that "connections" (Message of HOPE) were made regarding the intent of the project. Additionally, I believe your previous "art experience's" connected with her. I will be depending on you guy's to render the new ideas and refine the final conceptual understanding. I will work on the logistics, scheduling, facilation of materials for the working group and the funding (grant) efforts. If you can focus on the artitstic efforts I believe we can all benefit from this endeavor.

Late Addition: Call from Mrs. Wimberly regarding the "empty bowls" becoming a "BOWLS FOR HOPE" fundraiser as you guy's discussed. This will require a lot of legwork and planning. Let me know what your thoughts were and what was discussed.

Again thanks for your committment. You are a "treasure trove" of talent!

Best,

Jim

Friends of Detroit & Tri-County / ART MURAL PROJECT

Folks:

A creative meeting of several artist's regarding the Mural Project took place yesterday at the observatory. Discussions revolved around the conceptual undertaking and some visioning for the mural. We also discussed the potential for the formulation of a funding vehicle grant from the Michigan Association of Community Arts Agencies (MACAA) "Artist's in Residence" Program be explored and discussed with the principal's of the center. It was determined that the next step should be that the various individuals whom have expressed an interest in participating should visit the center to discuss our understanding and to listen to the additional and/or other directives that should/would drive the concept by the principal's of their organization and the community they serve. We determined that Friday afternoon would work for the group. I propsed that I would contact Mrs. Wimberly and Mike Wimberly to determine if that date/time would work for them. And that I would contact and confirm our committment to the creative team regarding date, time and transportation arrangements.

Stay tuned, more to come.

Best,

Jim
